A complete refurbishment of a high-end 3-bedroom flat in Hoxton Square, London.
When Simon and Yasmin bought a three-bedroom flat in London’s trendy Hoxton in 2021 they knew they wanted to create a space that captured their unique style and passion for art and music. Because Simon is Simon Dunmore, legend of the house music scene, world-renown DJ and founder of dance record label Defected Records.
The labour of love design project, which was almost two years in the making, saw the Dunmores work collaboratively with the team at London interior design studio InterestingProjects to bring their twin passions for art and music to life in their new home. The result is a luxurious urban space with straight lines, solid materials, muted colours and a hotel-like feel.
The long corridor connecting the whole flat has been transformed into an art gallery. The gallery showcases the modern art the couple has collected over the years, with works by renowned artists such as Keith Haring, Annie Leibovitz, and Bill Bernstein adorning the walls.
“There is real positive energy emanating from East London, and we wanted to create a space here that was homely and social and reflected our life experiences. We have spent our lives travelling and being around people, so our flat is purposely designed to remind us of the culture that has enriched our lives. That’s why every detail reflects something personal. It’s a place where we can both relax and entertain family and friends, and people love it here; we have had so many compliments. We enjoyed collaborating with InterestingProjects to create a dwelling bespoke to us and our lifestyle,” says Simon.
